Anthony Mortali was a two-way player on the gridiron, starting at guard and linebacker in the team’s first varsity win in 1975. He was named All-New England Football Conference in that season and was also a defensive standout for the men’s lacrosse program during its early stages at the varsity level.

After graduation, Tony returned to the football field as an assistant coach, where he helped to develop the football program into an annual contender on the national level. Mortali again returned to sidelines in the fall of 2015 to assist second year head coach Chris Pincince.
