Arnetha Eaddy was one of the first stars of the University of New Haven basketball program and became only the second player to score 1,000 career points, reaching the mark in 1985.

She led the team in scoring as a junior with a 15.6 average and was among the top three scorers in two other seasons. Eaddy earned All-New England Collegiate Conference honors as a basketball player in 1983 and 1984. At the time of induction, she ranked sixth in scoring (1,062 points), fourth in rebounding (542), seventh in assists (200) and sixth in steals (220).

Eaddy also enjoyed success as a volleyball player, spending four seasons with the program. She earned All-NECC honors in her senior season and was named the team’s co-captain the same year. During that campaign, Eaddy posted her best statistics with 204 kills, 42 solo blocks, 10 services aces and a team-high 275 digs.

Eaddy’s leadership and play helped the Chargers receive their first two NCAA tournament bids in 1983 and 1984.
