An All-America catcher for New Haven baseball, Bill Buscetto was a career .333 hitter for the Chargers from 1992-95.

The UNH backstop appeared in 105 games, driving in 85 runs with 31 doubles, five home runs and 98 runs scored in his four-year career. Buscetto recorded his best batting average of .404 in 1995, which remains 15th all-time in the single season record books.

Buscetto, who was a First Team All-New England Collegiate Conference and All-ECAC honoree in 1993 and 1995, also led the Chargers to three NCAA Northeast Regional appearances and the 1995 College World Series while hitting .366 in the postseason.

In his All-America campaign of 1995, Buscetto led the NECC with a .404 batting average while accumulating 14 doubles, three triples, two home runs, 43 runs batted in and 42 runs scored in 37 contests.
