Carolyn Bell is the fourth member of the 1987 National Championship Women’s Basketball squad to be inducted into the New Haven Hall of Fame, joining teammates Sonja Beamon, Charlene Taylor and Joy Jeter. Like her teammates, Bell played an integral role on the road to the National Title for the Chargers in 1987.

After graduating as the school's all-time leader in steals, Bell remains among the leaders in two categories to this day, assists (6th, 372) and steals (5th, 281). She is is among the top-10 in a single season in the same two categories with both set during the Chargers run to the championship in 1986-87. In steals, she finished that season with 82, which is tied for ninth in a single season, while she is 10th in assists with 137. 

In addition, Bell earned a spot on the All-New England Collegiate Conference second team as a senior and consistently finising among the team’s leaders in most offensive categories.
