A two-time All-America honoree, Eric Lesinski made 422 tackles in his career, setting a school record that stands to this day.

The linebacker was also the first football Charger to earn a pair All-Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference nods in his career, as well as twice being named All-England. In addition to earning his second All-New England honor in 1987, Lesinski was also named the New England Defensive Player of the Year that season.

Lesinski, who had seven sacks in his career, registered 10 or more tackles in every game in 1987, including 21 stops against Springfield College. He finished that season matching his career high with 134 tackles, a numbder that remained the school record for a single season until the fall of 2015.

With Lesinski at the lead, the Chargers’ defense in 1987 allowed just 134 points, which remains the fewest ever surrendered by UNH in a 10-game season. Over his four year career, the Blue and Gold went 27-13.
