A rare four-year All-Conference honoree, Erica Meninga (Corstange) is the only women's volleyball player to record more than 1,500 assists in a single-season – a mark she crossed three times in her illustrious career at the University of New Haven from 1995-98. A member of three teams that advanced to the Elite Eight, the Chargers posted a remarkable 155-25 record with the Portage, Mich. native at the setter position.

The starting setter from her first step on campus, Meninga quickly learned the ropes of the college game. She registered 1,366 assists, the third best total in school history at the time, her rookie season. She recorded six 50-assist matches, including a season-high 58 against Bentley and Tampa. An All-Region and All-Conference First Team selection as a sophomore, she broke the single season school record with 1,524 assists.

In 1997, Meninga would etch her name all over the Charger record books as she led the team in assists and digs. She became New Haven's all-time assists leader with a program-record 1,674 her junior season. For the second consecutive season, she was named All-Region and All-Conference First Team, while leading the NECC with an average of 10.33 assists per game. She would lead the Chargers to a clean sweep in the conference tournament and was named the tournament MVP.

Meninga's senior season was no different, as she dished out New Haven's second-most 1,574 assists and led the team with 387 digs. She received her third All-Region and fourth All-New England Collegiate Conference First Team selection as New Haven advanced to its fourth NCAA tournament in as many years. During the Chargers postseason run, she became the sixth player in Division II history to reach the 6,000 career assist mark and only the 15th player, at the time, in all-division history to reach the milestone.

In total, Meninga's numbers are some of the best all-time in college volleyball, across all divisions. She currently ranks fifth on the NCAA Division II all-time matches played list with 179 and 15th in Division II with 6,138 career assists – both numbers that rank her tops all-time at UNH. The only player to record 1,000 career assists and 1,000 career digs, she also ranks in the top 10 at New Haven in service aces. Her career assist number of 6,138 will likely never be touched as she stands more than 2,000 ahead of her peers.
