Len Paglialunga was a member of four national postseason qualifiers with New Haven baseball, including the team’s first NCAA College World Series appearance in 1974. He hit .307 with seven home runs, 79 runs batted in and an on-base percentage over .400 in his career.

On the 1974 squad that logged two victories on the national stage in Springfield, Ill., Paglialunga hit .385 with five doubles, three home runs and 27 RBI. The slick fielder was also a defensive asset for the Chargers, spending two seasons on the hot corner before moving across the diamond to fill a need at first base in his final two campaigns.
