One of the first stars on the ice for New Haven men’s ice hockey, Richard Hildebrand made an immediate impact for the Chargers with 36 goals and 42 assists in his freshman campaign.

A prolific goal-scorer and an unselfish facilitator with the puck, Hildebrand ended his career as the program’s all-time leading scorer with 194 points. He was also among in the leaders in fewest penalties with a mere 52 minutes spent in the box in 57 career contests.
