Robert Powers was a key member of the New Haven baseball team for its first three NCAA postseason appearances, including the club’s inaugural trip to the NCAA College World Series in 1974.

The right-hander posted a 1.93 earned run average (ninth all-time) in his career while compiling 30 wins (fourth all-time) on the hill and 23 complete games (second all-time). In addition, armed with a devastating slider, Powers racked up 211 strikeouts in his four-year Charger career.
