Andre Foster

West Haven, Conn. - The University of New Haven is pleased to announce the hiring of Andre Foster as the head coach of its women’s volleyball program. Foster, who has brought years of diverse coaching and playing experience across all three NCAA divisions, was hired to lead the program with a focus on innovation, leadership, and student-athlete development. His appointment comes as the University looks to elevate its volleyball program to new heights.

“We are excited to welcome Andre to the University of New Haven," said Devin Crosby, Director of Athletics at New Haven. "Andre’s extensive experience across multiple divisions of collegiate volleyball and his commitment to student-athlete development are exactly what we were looking for in our next head coach. His passion, energy, and success in previous roles make him the ideal person to lead our program forward.”

Coaching Experience
Foster brings a wealth of experience in coaching both men’s and women’s volleyball. Most recently, he served as the Head Men’s and Women’s Volleyball Coach at Nichols College from December 2023 to February 2025, where he oversaw all aspects of both programs. Foster implemented new offensive and defensive systems, coordinated recruiting efforts, and worked closely with the athletic administration to ensure the success and well-being of the student-athletes. He also managed all logistics, including budgets, travel, and team schedules.

Before his time at Nichols, Foster served as the Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH, from August 2022 to December 2023. In this role, he played a key part in recruiting efforts and athlete evaluations while focusing on coaching the team’s blockers and middles. His ability to develop strong relationships with student-athletes, coaches, and club contacts was instrumental in the Musketeers’ success.

Prior to Xavier, Foster worked as a Graduate Assistant at Purdue University Fort Wayne (August 2021- July 2022), where he ran the defense and blocking for the team and played an integral role in recruiting and player evaluations.

Foster’s diverse background, which spans multiple programs and coaching levels, ensures that the New Haven women’s volleyball program is in capable hands. His leadership and dedication to student-athletes will be key in continuing to develop a strong and successful program at the University.
