MISSION STATEMENT

By emphasizing academic excellence, athletic competition, personal growth and social development, Charger athletics supports the mission of the University of New Haven while providing opportunity for exceptional student-athletes to continue their athletic careers.

 

CORE VALUES

All members of the athletics department are charged with being assignment correct, fundamentally sound, and mentally tough on the field of play, in the classroom, and in their personal lives.

 

Assignment Correct: A firm understanding of the task at hand.

 

Fundamentally Sound: Built through repetition, the ability to properly execute one’s assignment.

 

Mentally Tough: The conviction to overcome challenges, leave past failures behind, and prepare for success day in and day out.

 

 

PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT

Our coaches and staff will encourage all Charger student-athletes to succeed at greater heights than they know possible in every area of their life.  Everyone associated with Charger Athletics is expected to contribute to a culture of constant improvement and continuous growth. The University of New Haven’s mission is to prepare our students to lead purposeful and fulfilling lives in a global society through experiential, collaborative, and discovery-based learning.  Being a part of Charger Athletics will further prepare our alumni to enact meaningful change, challenge the status quo, and impact organizations at the highest levels.
