Men's Soccer Suffers 2-0 Loss in Season Finale

(10-28-09) WEST HAVEN, Conn. - The University of New Haven men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to American International College Wednesday afternoon at a rain-soaked Kayo Field. The loss concludes the Chargers 2009 season, with a 1-17 overall record and a 0-13 Northeast-10 Conference record. The Yellow Jackets improve to 8-11 overall and 5-8 in the NE-10.

The Yellow Jackets first goal came in the fifth minute. Following the goal, neither team mounted much of an attacking opportunity for the remainder of the first half. AIC tallied eight shots in the first half, while the Chargers registered three.

AIC wasted no time in the second half, scoring an insurance goal in the 53rd minute. The Chargers then registered a couple opportunities in the remaining minutes. Senior Oren Corridon attempted a shot on goal in the 79th minute. Steven Gennuso also tabbed a shot on goal in the 81st minute.

The Yellow Jackets added 11 shots in the second half for 19 total shots. UNH tallied six shots in the half for nine total in the game. New Haven also trailed 7-4 in corner kick attempts.
