Job Title: Athletics Creative Content Internship

Overview
New Haven Athletic Communications is looking for creative content interns to help tell the story of all
New Haven Athletic programs by capturing high-quality digital content. Interns will be assigned one or
two sports to cover throughout their term. Interns will also play a key role in shooting, editing, and
posting content to social media platforms that align with the New Haven Athletics and NEC brand
guidelines.
This is a hands-on opportunity to work directly with a Division I athletic department in sports media and
gain valuable experience in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Own the day-to-day social media coverage of the assigned program(s)
• Create platform-specific coverage, including short-form videos/reels, in-game and real-time
social media content, graphics, photos, and videos
• Attend team events, specifically practices and home games, to capture content
• Edit content and ensure all content is aligned with New Haven, NEC, and NCAA brand standards
• Maintain a consistent posting presence on Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter/X
• Track social media trends and find ways to implement them for your assigned program(s)
• Assist in planning and executing social media calendars for your program(s)
• Help shape the identity of New Haven Athletics on social media
Skills & Qualifications:
• Current undergraduate or graduate student with a career interest in communications,
media, marketing, and/or content creation
• Working knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter/X algorithm and trends
• Experience creating short-form video content on tight deadlines
• Experience working in Adobe Suite (specifically Photoshop, InDesign, and Premiere Pro)
• Photography and videography skills
• Ability to work nights and weekends

ensuring that all logistics, equipment, and personnel are in place for a successful game day
experience. This role offers valuable hands-on experience in event management, venue
operations, and customer service within the collegiate athletics environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in organizing and managing athletic events, ensuring all aspects run smoothly.
• Monitor the setup and maintenance of athletic facilities before, during, and after events.
• Oversee event staff and volunteers, providing guidance and ensuring tasks are
completed effectively.
• Ensure that all events adhere to safety protocols and university regulations.
• Serve as a liaison between different departments, facilitating clear and effective
communication.
Skills & Qualifications:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with athletes,
coaches, and spectators.
• A passion for providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive experience
for all event attendees.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently

In college athletics, the visiting team liaison serves as a crucial point of contact and support for
opposing teams during their visits. Their overarching goal is to ensure a smooth and positive
experience for the visiting team, fostering good sportsmanship and facilitating the event's overall
success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Pre-arrival arrangements: Communicating with the visiting team day of as the point
person to discuss logistical details, including parking for vehicles, trailers, or buses,
drop-off and loading zones for supplies and equipment, and security lists for facility
access.
• Game day support: Aiding with various game day needs, including transporting supplies
to the sidelines and ensuring water availability and access.
• General assistance: Offering support and addressing any additional needs or questions
the visiting team may have throughout their stay.
Importance of the Role:
• Promoting good sportsmanship: A dedicated liaison demonstrates hospitality and
respect for the visiting team, fostering a positive environment for competition.
• Enhancing efficiency: By coordinating logistics and addressing potential issues

Job Title: Broadcast Intern

Overview
The Broadcast Intern will assist in the planning and execution of New Haven Charger
Broadcasts, ensuring that all logistics, equipment, and personnel are in place for a successful
and high quality Broadcast. This role offers valuable hands-on experience in the world of Sports
Broadcasting.
Key Responsibilities:
Live Event Production
● Assist with the setup, operation, and breakdown of broadcast equipment for home
athletic events
● Operate cameras, graphics systems, replay, audio boards, and streaming software
● Serve as technical director, producer, replay operator, graphics operator, or camera
operator as assigned
● Support live broadcasts on conference and institutional streaming platforms
Pre-Production & Post-Production
● Help create broadcast graphics, lower thirds, intro videos, and promotional elements
● Edit highlight packages, social clips, and feature content
● Assist in organizing and archiving video footage
Game Day Operations
● Coordinate with on-air talent, athletics communications staff, and game operations
personnel
● Assist with stat integration, sponsor reads, and in-game elements
● Ensure a professional and brand-consistent broadcast presentation
