The University of New Haven women’s soccer team is ranked No. 5 in this week’s NSCAA East Region rankings. The Chargers will play at Southern New Hampshire – the No. 4 club in the region – on Wednesday afternoon in the Northeast-10 Championship Quarterfinals.
The NSCAA regional rankings are used to determine the NCAA Championship field. The tournament champions of the Northeast-10, East Coast and Central Atlantic Collegiate Conferences will claim three of the six berths in the Division II East Region Championship, with the final three spots going to the top three teams remaining in the final regional rankings prior to Nov. 5 NCAA Championship selection show.
The Chargers finished the regular season at 11-6-1, their highest win total since 2007. New Haven’s eight conference wins and sixth-place finish both represent all-time highs in five years of Northeast-10 action.
