BOX SCORE GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – Despite a flurry of second-half chances, the University of New Haven women's soccer team was unable to find the back of the net, and host Adelphi claimed a 1-0 decision on Wednesday afternoon. The Chargers got four saves from
Moriah Saidel (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) in the loss.

New Haven now stands at 7-3-3 overall with a 5-3-2 Northeast-10 record. The host Panthers improve to 8-1-2 on the season with a 6-1-2 conference mark.

Adelphi's goal came off the foot of Victoria Antonino in the 47th minute, assisted by Michelle Brown. After falling behind 1-0, the Chargers fired eight shots on goal – but each one was turned away by Sam Whitney to preserve the Panthers' clean sheet.

Nicole Pacapelli (West Haven, Conn./West Haven / Stonehill College) and
Danielle Widmann (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow) each attempted two shots on target.

Saidel made three stops in the first half and one after the intermission to keep the margin at a manageable one-goal deficit.

The Chargers will now embark on their longest road trip of the season to meet Saint Michael's on Saturday, Oct. 19 for a 1 p.m. match. New Haven comes to Kayo Field for the final time in the 2013 regular season to host Pace on Senior Day on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 4 p.m.
