The University of New Haven women's soccer team will play under the lights on Kayo Field for the first time in 2013 when Stonehill comes to town on Saturday, Sept. 28 for a 7 p.m. contest. The Chargers are off to the best start in program history at 5-0-2 overall and 3-0-1 in the Northeast-10.

New Haven last took the pitch on Wednesday, earning a 2-1 win over visiting Le Moyne. Monica Yanez (West Haven, Conn./West Haven) netted her conference-leading eighth goal of the fall and Nicole PacapellI (West Haven, Conn./West Haven / Stonehill College) added her second in the victory. Natasha Purchla (Oakdale, N.Y./Connetquot) made five saves to preserve the one-goal margin.

Yanez also leads the NE-10 with 19 total points, while Amber Simms (Southport, England/Southport) shares second place in the conference with seven goals and 17 points to her credit. Purchla is among the NE-10 leaders with a 0.88 goals against average and a .846 save percentage.

The Skyhawks are making their second trip to the Nutmeg State in three days after dropping a 1-0 decision at No. 20 Bridgeport. The loss snapped a three-match winning streak for Stonehill, which now stands at 3-4-1 overall and 3-1-0 in the NE-10 Conference.

Megan Sullivan is the only Skyhawk with multiple goals (2), and her four points also lead the squad. 2012 First Team All-NE-10 goalkeeper Amy Wheaton is back in net for her senior campaign; she currently boasts a 0.82 goals-against average and a .863 save percentage.

Following Saturday's night outing, the Chargers will embark on a three-match NE-10 road trip. New Haven visits No. 8 American International, Merrimack and crosstown rival Southern Connecticut State before returning to Kayo Field to host Franklin Pierce on Saturday, Oct. 12. That 4 p.m. match with the Ravens will be broadcast live in high definition and free of charge on NewHavenChargers.com.
