GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – Kathryn Campbell (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield) scored three goals and added an assist, but the nationally ranked No. 5 University of New Haven women's lacrosse team fell to the No. 4 Le Moyne Dolphins 11-8 in the Northeast-10 Championship semifinals on Saturday afternoon from Motamed Field on the campus of Adelphi University.

With the win, Le Moyne improves to 17-2 and advances to the NE-10 Championship game where it will take on Adelphi. New Haven falls to 15-3 and will wait to see if it has earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. The NCAA selection show takes place on Sunday, May 3 at 8:00 p.m.

The Chargers got off to a slow start as the Dolphins went up 3-0 in the first five minutes. New Haven methodically worked their way back into the contest as goals by Ashley Travis (LaFayette, N.Y./LaFayette ), Kathryn Campbell (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield) and Nicole Belanger (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon) tied the game with 8:06 remaining in the first half. After Le Moyne scored again to make it 4-3, Campbell tallied her second goal of the game with 1:30 remaining in the opening frame to send the game into the half tied at 4-4.

New Haven recorded the opening tally of the second half as Campbell found the back of the net for the third time in the game just 40 seconds in. The Dolphins came back, scoring four of the next five goals to take an 8-6 lead. Travis netted her second goal of the game at the 10:05 mark of the second half, but the Dolphins scored the next three markers to open up a 11-7 lead.

The Chargers made one last push, as Caitlin O'Brien (Branford, Conn./Branford) scored with 1:48 remaining, but the Dolphins claimed the ensuing draw control and were able to run out the clock.

With her appearance in the game, Campbell tied assistant coach Ashley Ferrandiz (West Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) for the most appearances in program history with 75. She is also one point shy of becoming just the second player in program history with 300 career points.
