WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Coming off of his first season of international play for T71 Dudelange, 2015 New Haven men's basketball graduate Eric Anderson (Newark, N.J./Newark Tech) was named the Luxembourg Defensive Player of the Year and All-Luxembourg Second Team as announced by the Luxembourg Basketball league.

In 18 games with Dudelange, Anderson finished second on the team with a 51.3 percent effort from the field (117-of-228), averaging 17.1 points per game. He also pulled in a team-best 12.6 rebounds per contest and led the team with 2.2 blocks per outing. Anderson helped lead Dudelange to a 23-7 overall record in 2015-16.

Prior to signing with Dedelange, Anderson appeared in 10 games with Gladiators Trier in Germany, averaging 11.4 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.

The Newark, N.J. native closed out his collegiate career in 2015 earning Daktronics All-America Third Team honors and Daktronics All-East Region First Team accolades. In addition, Anderson was a three-time Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Year and twice earned All-Northeast-10 First Team distinction, the only player in program history to earn first-team honors.

As a senior, Anderson averaged an NCAA Division II best 13.1 rebounds per game and recorded the first triple-double in Chargers men's basketball history with 26 points, 28 rebounds and 10 assists against Saint Anselm. He also ranked 15th the conference in scoring at 16.7 points per game.

During his career at New Haven, Anderson helped lead the Chargers to a pair of NCAA Tournament berths. Overall, the forward/center closed out his career as the program's all-time leader in blocks with 238 total, while he is second all-time in rebounding (1,271 career rebounds, 11.1 per game) and 12th in scoring (1,551 career points, 13.6 per game).
