WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The University of New Haven women's soccer team took down NYIT on a rainy afternoon at Kayo Field, taking down the Bears by a 1-0 margin. The non-conference win comes as the third straight for the Chargers, making it their third straight season with a 3-0 start.
After a scoreless first frame, New Haven drew a foul in the 54

Samantha Bostdorf (Mount Joy, Pa./Elizabethtown Area) served the free kick toward the top of the box. The ball became loose and was collected by Pacapelli, who tapped it to Morello for a one-time pass forward. Pacapelli gained possession and took one dribble forward and found the back left corner of the net with a kick off the right foot.
The Chargers nearly extended the lead just three minutes later, when senior

th minute, a New Haven yellow card gave NYIT a dangerous free kick opportunity just outside the box, but Bears midfielder Jess Hawley's shot hit the left post and deflected outward, giving the Blue and Gold an opportunity to re-gain possession. For the final 30 minutes of regulation, New Haven was able to control the pace, eventually capping the 1-0 win.
