WEST HAVEN, Conn. – New Haven field hockey heads into the final week of the regular season in a three-way tie for the eighth and final spot in the upcoming Northeast-10 Championship Tournament. The Chargers will travel to Pace on Tuesday afternoon for a matchup with the Setters, ahead of their regular season finale on Friday night against Bentley at DellaCamera Stadium.

INSIDE THE SERIES
The Chargers are 0-2 all-time against the Setters.

SCOUTING THE CHARGERS (5-11, 5-7 NE10)
Holding a school record five wins on the season, the Chargers have dropped their last three games in a row, including a 2-1 overtime defeat to Saint Thomas Aquinas and a 2-0 loss to No. 9 Southern New Hampshire, both at home. New Haven previously pulled out a hard-fought 2-1 road win in double overtime at Saint Michael's on Oct 12.

In their third season as a varsity program, the Chargers won one game in conference play in 2018 and have already rattled off five this season. The team's 1-0 blanking of Southern Connecticut was also the first shutout win in program history. The team is 5-2 this year in games where they have scored goal.

Junior goaltender Natalie Shaker (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) tied a career-high with 22 saves on Sept. 25 at No. 9 Adelphi, and is coming off a 17-save effort at Stonehill last Wednesday. She currently ranks second in the NE10 this season with 152 saves.

Sophomore Taylor Geaglone (Enfield, Conn./Enfield) scored her second goal of the season at Stonehill last Wednesday, and leads the team with three assists. Sophomore Julia Battino (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield Memorial) scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season on a penalty stroke in double overtime at Saint Michael's on Oct. 12. Freshmen Zharria John (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway) and Katie Durkee (Salem, Conn./East Lyme) each have one assist.

SCOUTING THE SETTERS (4-11, 4-9 NE10)
Pace enters the week in 12th place in the NE10 standings, but has won three of its last four games, all in conference play. Tuesday's clash will serve as the team's final NE10 matchup of the season. The Setters defeated Southern Conn State, Saint Michael's and Molloy by a combined 10-5 margin, before falling 4-2 at Franklin Pierce in their last matchup on Saturday.

Sophomore Danielle Merante is tied for 10th in the NE10 with eight goals this season. Freshman Jessica Wolfe is next in line with four, while junior Kim Schiera is tied with Mia Lennon for the team lead with four assists.

As a team, the Setters are scoring 1.5 goals per game this season, good enough for ninth in the conference, and have allowed 3.4 goals per contest, ranking them 12th.

ON DECK
The Blue and Gold will host their regular season finale this Friday night at 7 p.m. against Bentley.
