Women's Soccer Travels to Adelphi for Weekend Conference Date

The New Haven women's soccer team continues conference play with a weekend visit to Garden City, N.Y. to take on the Adelphi Panthers. Game time for the Saturday road game is set for 5:00 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY
The New Haven and Adelphi all-time series dates back to October 1998 with the Panthers holding 13-6-4 advantage over 23 previous meetings. Saturday, New Haven is looking to break Adelphi's four game win streak with the first victory in the series since a 1-0 shutout in West Haven on October 15, 2014. When playing on the Panthers home turf, Adelphi owns an 8-2-1 all-time record.

SCOUTING THE CHARGERS (2-5-1, 1-4 NE10)
Junior midfielder Jenna Peduzzi (Old Lyme, Conn./Old Lyme) leads the team in points and goals. Over the weekend Peduzzi touched in a single goal to get the win over Saint Michael's, capturing New Haven's first conference win of the season. For the season, she has collected four goals and one assist, tallying a total of nine points. Peduzzi's game-winning goal on Saturday came off of an assist from teammate Maaike Rahms (Waddinxveen, Netherlands), who recorded her first assist on the season. Samantha Roth (Hicksville, N.Y./St. Anthony's) currently stands second on the team for goals (2), assists (2) and points (6). 
Senior Sorcha Ni Bhraonain (Galway, Ireland/Colaiste Cholmcille) leads the teams in assists, collecting three as a defender. Additionally, she added her first career goal this season and stands in third on the team with five points.  
Defensively, goalkeeper Paige Davis (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) collected her first shutout of the year on Saturday against Saint Michael's. For the season, Davis has tallied 58 saves, with a .784 save percentage. Last game her defense shut Saint Michael's offense down, only allowing them to take two shots on goal, which Davis was able to collect.  

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS (5-2-0, 4-1-0, NE10) 
The Panthers are led by Kerianne Scorce whose three assists and 11 points leads the team while she has added four goals. Alexsis Weiser is a key offensive player for the Panthers, leading the team with five goals on the season. Adelphi's offense have tallied a total of 17 goals, taking 64 shots on goal.
Goalkeeper Krista Aliscio has collected 17 saves with a .773 save percentage. The Panthers defense has only allowed its opponents to take 23 shots on goal.

UP NEXT
New Haven will continue a two-game road trip as they close out non-conference play with a mid-week date against Mercy College. Kickoff at Mercy Field is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8.
