WEST HAVEN, Conn. - Women's tennis fell to Le Moyne on Saturday afternoon 5-2, as the team drops to 5-4 overall, and 4-4 in conference play.
Freshman
Kacie Banks (Marietta, Ga./Marietta) led the Chargers with one of two wins in singles contests on the day with a 6-2, 0-6, 6-1 win in the number four spot, improving to 6-2 this season.
Fellow freshman
Katherine MacPhail (Park City, Utah/Judge Memorial Catholic) won a well fought match at fifth singles, 7-5, 2-6, 7-5, as she improved to 5-2 on the year in singles matches.
The Chargers were also able to take one of three doubles matches by way of a 6-2 victory from Banks and junior Lilia Gonzalez, however the team did not earn a point.
The Blue and Gold will return to the court tomorrow morning, Oct. 6 when they head to New London to compete in the Connecticut College Tournament. First serve is scheduled for 10:00 a.m.
From there the team will head to Massachusetts on Wednesday for an afternoon bout with the Assumption Greyhounds at 3:00 p.m.
