THE LEAD
The University of New Haven Women's soccer team will open their eight-game home schedule at Kathy Zolad Stadium when they welcome Bloomfield College on Wednesday afternoon.

SERIES HISTORY
The Chargers and the Bears have not faced each other in the history of the two programs. The Chargers are looking to clinch their first win of the season.

FIRST RESPONDERS DAY
The University of New Haven and Department of Athletics will be hosting First Responders Day and are inviting all first reposnders to attend the match. A moment of silence will be held pregame.

SCOUTING THE CHARGERS (0-1-1, 0-0-0 NE10)
The Chargers are currently 0-1-1, having drawn 1-1 against Post University and falling to Georgian Court. In their first matchup of the season they started off strong scoring first in the 27th minute. Senior Sorcha Ni Bhraonain (Galway, Ireland/Colaiste Cholmcille) recorded her first assist on the season. Mackenzie Myers (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) collected her second career goal for New Haven, and her first of the season. Chargers goalie Paige Davis (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) faced a total of 13 shots, saving nine. The Chargers offense has out shot their opponents 29-22, 16 of the shots were on goal.

SCOUTING THE BEARS (0-2, 0-0, CACC)
The Bears offense was shut out in each of their first two games, with their opponents only allowing them to get off six shots on goal. The strong defense of the Bears is a key component to their team. In goal, Bloomfield have split time between their two freshmen, both starting and completing a game. Together they have tallied 22 saves, with Alexis Schmidt record 15 saves of the 16 shots faced. A strong offender to keep an eye on is junior Emily Quiroz, she has two shots on goal of the six on the team. Quiroz has collected a total of four shots.

UP NEXT
The Women's soccer team will continue their home season, including their first NE10 matchup against Stonehill. Game time is set for 1:00 PM at Kathy Zolad Stadium.
