The New Haven women's soccer team is back on its home turf facing another conference matchup on Tuesday. The Chargers welcome Saint Anselm to Kathy Zolad Stadium Tuesday at 4:00 PM.Â
SERIES HISTORY
New Haven and Saint Anselm maintain a balanced all-time record in the series with the current 9-8-3 record in favor of the Chargers. Saint Anselm took the win last year at home with a score of 4-2 while New Haven looks to snap a three-season losing skid with its first conference win on their home turf.Â
SCOUTING THE CHARGERS (1-4-1, 0-3 NE10)
Junior midfielder Jenna Peduzzi (Old Lyme, Conn./Old Lyme) returns home as the leading scorer in both points and goals. Totaling seven points on three goals and an assist, Peduzzi collected one of each in the Chargers previous matchup against Southern New Hampshire. Mackenzie Myers (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) and Samantha Roth (Hicksville, N.Y./St. Anthony's) follow her with five points apiece. Each has tallied two goals and one assist on the season.Â
Senior Sorcha Ni Bhraonain (Galway, Ireland/Colaiste Cholmcille) leads the teams in assists with a trio of helpers as a defender while scoring her first career goal this season against Bentley. She currently stands tied for second on the team with five points. Â
Defensively, New Haven's goalkeeper Paige Davis (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) has a .759 save percentage on the year. She has tallied a total of 44 saves, including nine that came last time out at Southern New Hampshire. Davis has collected a career-high 13 saves last time on her home turf against Stonehill. The goalkeeper remains strong in goal for New Haven. Â
SCOUTING THE HAWKSÂ (3-1-2, 0-1-1, NE10)Â
Saint Anselm offense is led by Senior Caly Farina who enters the midweek match-up with six points on two goals and two assists. Bailey Conti is tied with Farina with two goals to lead the team. Another key player the Chargers need to look out for is Junior Nicole White who has two assists and a goal to her credit. The Hawks offense has collected a total of 81 shots, 40 of which have been on goal.Â
In goal for the Hawks, junior Payton Wildrick has been consistent with 18 saves, collecting a .720 save percentage. Saint Anselm's defense has been strong, only allowing 25 shots to on goal.Â
