For the second straight week and the fourth time this season, New Haven freshman Aurora Deshaies (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Ludden) has been named the Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Deshaies is coming off a week in which she averaged a double-double with 11.5 points and 11.0 rebounds while leading the Chargers to a 2-0 week with wins over Saint Rose and American International. She also added in 2.5 steals per game, shot .412 from the floor and was a perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line.

The Syracuse, N.Y. native started her week with 14 points and eight rebounds at Saint Rose on Wednesday, while shooting 5-of-8 from the floor. On Saturday against American Int'l, she tallied nine points and a career-high 14 rebounds while adding two steals and going 5-for-5 from the free throw line. Her career performance on the boards helped New Haven outrebound the Yellow Jackets 59-26, including helping the Chargers haul in 22 offensive rebounds compared to AIC's 15 defensive boards.

Micah Wormack (Cumberland, Md./Allegany) was also recognized by the NE10, landing on the weekly honor roll after amassing a pair of double-doubles in last week's contests. Wormack, who was named the NE10 Player of the Week back in December, averaged 22.5 points, 15.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals, 1.5 blocks and 1.0 assists per game last week. She also shot an impressive .593 from the floor (16-for-27), and went 13-for-19 from the free throw line. On Saturday against American Int'l, she tied her season-high with 27 points and tied her career-high with 18 rebounds.

The Chargers will return to the court on Wednesday evening at Southern Connecticut State.
