BOX SCORE

COLCHESTER, VT. - The New Haven men's soccer team settled for a 1-1 draw in double overtime against the St. Michael's Purple Knights at Duffy Field on Saturday.

The Chargers played from behind for most of the game after a St. Michael's goal at about the 20 minute mark.

Freshman forward Pau Santanach (Barcelona, Spain/Collegi CreaNova) once again entered the goal column with a timely score after 83 minutes of play to send the game to overtime.

New Haven outshot the Purple Knights, 22-16 (8-6), six of which in overtime.

Santanach led the Chargers with eight shots, three on goal. Bruno Aguillon (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) finished with three total shots and one shot on goal.

Freshman goalkeeper Themis Kastoris (Gothenburg, Sweden/Kitas Gymnasiet) tallied five saves in between the posts. Kastoris's season total is now at 38 which places him at sixth in the conference.

Pau Santanach (Barcelona, Spain/Collegi CreaNova) is once again tied for first in the conference with nine goals off of 54 shot attempts.

New Haven, now 5-3-2 (2-3-2), stays at seventh in the conference standings as they still look to ignite their offense at home against the Franklin Pierce Ravens (7-0). Kickoff for that game is scheduled for 4:00 PM on Oct. 19 at Kathy Zolad Stadium.
