FULL SPRING 2021 SCHEDULE
WEST HAVEN, Conn. – University of New Haven women's tennis coach Hannah Still has announced an 11-game regular season schedule for the 2021 campaign, her fourth season at the helm of the Blue and Gold.
This announcement comes in light of the Northeast-10 Conference's recent announcement from the Council of Presidents to proceed with a spring sports season. All scheduled matches are subject to change based on COVID-19 health and safety protocols.
The NE10 has adopted a 10-match conference schedule which was developed to address interstate travel restrictions throughout the NE10 footprint. A playoff structure and dates of a postseason conference tournament are in development and will be released at a later date.
The women's tennis team will open its 2021 campaign with its only non-conference match of the season, a road date with Saint Thomas Aquinas on Saturday, March 13. The first of five home matches will follow as the Chargers will welcome Adelphi on Wednesday, March 17, the first of three meetings against the Panthers, all of which will count towards the postseason standings.
The Chargers will return to the road on the weekend when they travel to Bentley on Sunday, March 21 before returning home to host Stonehill College for a midweek match on Wednesday, March 24. After a visit to Le Moyne, the first of two meetings against the Dolphins, on Sunday, March 28, the Chargers will close out the month of March on Wednesday the 31st when they host Assumption at the New Haven Tennis Courts.
The month of April will also begin at home as American International will visit West Haven on Sunday, April 4 for the only back-to-back home matches of the season for the Blue and Gold. The second meeting against Adelphi and Le Moyne will following that match against AIC with a visit to Adelphi slated for Wednesday, April 7 and Le Moyne making the trip to West Haven on Sunday, April 11 marking the final home match of the year for the Chargers.
The final two matches will come on the road as New Haven will play a pair of previous opponents, starting with American International on Wednesday, April 14 and closing out the regular season with the final of three meetings against Adelphi on Monday, April 19.
