Andric Earns 10th Win as Women's Tennis Drops Wednesday Match at Adelphi

BOX SCORE OCEANSIDE, N.Y. -  Graduate student Ivana Andric (Griesheim, Germany) earned her 10th overall victory in the top singles position as women's tennis dropped Wednesday's match to Adelphi 5-2 at the Point Set Indoor Racquet Club.

New Haven would fall in a pair of closely contested matches against the Panthers top two doubles teams, before Andric earned a straight set victory 6-4, 6-3 at first singles. The win is her fifth victory in solo play this season to go along with five wins at first doubles as well.

In the other singles rounds, senior Stephanie Gonzalez (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico/Academia Maria Reina) battled back and forth with her opponent in the second spot before falling 6-2, 6-4. Junior Nicole Mika (Staten Island, N.Y./Laurel Springs) also played close with her opponent at third singles, dropping a 6-3, 6-3 decision.

Next Up
The New Haven women's tennis team will look to bounce back Sunday when they host Le Moyne College. With rain currently in the forecast the two sides will compete indoors at the Milford Indoor Tennis Center. Opening serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. with stats posted to NewHavenChargers.com at the conclusion of the match. Prior to the match, the Chargers will honor Gonzalez, their lone senior for her dedication and commitment to the program.
