THE LEAD
New Haven has suffered a three-game losing streak, starting with a 2-1 loss at Stonehill in extra minutes. After Saturday's contest with SNHU, the Chargers hope to turn this narrative around in their their fourth straight NE10 matchup.
SERIES HISTORY VS SAINT ANSELM
These two go back just less than 30 years, making Tuesday's events their 22nd debut. Overall, the Chargers split 9-9 when facing the Hawks, also factoring in three draws. New Haven has not triumphed since 2015 when they shutout Saint A's 2-0. In 2019 when these two last saw the same turf, Kathy Zolad Stadium witnessed a 2-1 loss with all activity occurring in the second half.
SCOUTING THE CHARGERS (3-3, 0-3, NE10)
Dakota Cimetta (Coral Springs, Fla./J.P. Taravella) scored the lone goal for New Haven in Saturdays contest against #19 Southern New Hampshire. The Chargers had a limited amount of shots, three, which was just a fraction of the Penmen's 21. Gabriela Garcia-Perez (Guilford, Conn./Guilford) and Mackenzie Myers (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) both took aim for the net but was stopped by SNHU's goal keeper. Limited shots tend to be the deciding factor, and look to be elevated come Tuesday.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS (3-1, 1-1, NE10)
After having their first two canceled, the Hawks added three wins and one double overtime loss to their resume, against #6 Saint Rose. This past Saturday at Adelphi, Saint Anselm was lead by sophomore Delaney Glode who rode her team to victory in the 95th minute. Saint A's outshot Adelphi 19-7, partnered by eight corner kicks.
