THE LEAD
The University of New Haven women's soccer program secured their first conference win on the season Sunday when they hosted Saint Michael's. The lone goal from freshman Vickie Fleming (Burlington, Conn./Lewis Mills) came late in the game following 81 scoreless minutes. This was Fleming's second goal of her college career, her debut kick helped the Chargers in their 3-2 victory over Bloomfield.

SERIES HISTORY VS PACE UNIVERSITY
The last time these two met was in October of 2019 when Pace limited New Haven to no goals. The Chargers are 9-8 when taking on the Setters, and upheld a six-game winning-streak spanning from 2008 to 2013. Pace compensated for their losses three years later, initiating a four-game winning streak on their end which has the chance to propel forward if they win this coming game against New Haven on Wednesday. The Blue and Gold split their record on the road at Pace Stadium in Pleasantville, N.Y. and their last ten matches against the Setters.

SCOUTING THE CHARGERS (4-4, 1-4 NE10)
The Chargers four-game losing streak expired Sunday when Saint Michael's came to Kathy Zolad Stadium.   They started their season with a three-game winning set, but limited shots punished the Connecticut team. Their triumph over Bloomfield over two weeks ago proved to be the last time New Haven tallied more shots than their opponent, 12-8. Dakota Cimetta (Coral Springs, Fla./J.P. Taravella) continues to lead the Chargers in shots attempted with 14, followed by Fleming who's accrued seven.

SCOUTING THE SETTERS (2-2-3, 0-2-3 NE10)
The Setters are reminiscent of their two opening victories that took place here in West Haven in the Opening Weekend Tournament. Following those back-to-back shutouts, Pace has been absent of a victory going 0-2-3 in their last five. To date, the Setters average 1.143 goals per game. Of their eight total goals this season, they have all been from seven different players. Sophomore, forward Amber Probasco is the only one on the roster with more than one goal this season. Coaching the Setters through their season is Mike Winn, who also acts as the school's Associate Athletic Director. Winn is amidst his 22nd season coaching the women's soccer program and enters Wednesday's game hungry for his first NE10 victory of the 2021-22 season.

WHEN AND WHERE
Pace Stadium is located on the school's Pleasantville Campus, which is also where the Chargers football team will play their game Saturday afternoon. The two Blue and Golds will play under the lights with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. Live stats will be available on the New Haven Athletics website, www.NewHavenChargers.com.
