GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – Three first half goals proved too much for the New Haven women's soccer team as they dropped a 3-0 road decision at Adelphi on Tuesday evening. With the loss, the Chargers fall to 2-3-2 overall and 0-2 in the Northeast-10 Conference.
Overall, the Panthers finished the game outshooting New Haven 27-4, with Chargers keeper Amanda McQuillan (Meath, Ireland/) registering a season-best 11 saves with 14 of the Panthers shot marked on goal.
New Haven's four total shots came from three different players with junior transfer Angelina Shilling collecting the lone shot on goal, one of two total shots from the midfielder. Graduate students Mackenzie Myers (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) and Halle Palmedo (Manhasset, N.Y./Manhasset) provided the two remaining shots for New Haven.
The Chargers remain on the road for their next game, this time heading north to Waltham, Mass. to take on the Bentley Falcons on Saturday, September 17 with kickoff scheduled for 5:00 p.m. at Bentley Soccer Field.
