MANSFIELD, Mass. – After redshirting last season, sophomore Ethan Simmon (Edison, N.J./St. Joseph Metuchen) made his debut for the New Haven men's basketball team over the weekend, finishing the two-day event at Saint Rose averaging 14.0 points and 2.5 rebounds across a 1-1 weekend.

Simmon opened up his career with New Haven scoring 17 points in an overtime game against Post, shooting 5-of-11 from the field and adding a perfect 6-of-6 performance at the free throw line. Less than 24 hours later, he would finish with 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting, including 3-of-6 from beyond the three-point arc as the Chargers picked up their first win against the Wilmington Wildcats.

Simmon and the Chargers will continue a four-game season-opening road trip with a Wednesday night battle in New Jersey when they head to Bloomfield College to take on the Bears. Tip-off against the CACC opponent is set for 7:00 p.m.
