FULL NORTHEAST-10 RELEASE
MANSFIELD, Mass. – The University of New Haven's two women's basketball captains hauled in a trio of Northeast-10 All-Conference honors on Tuesday afternoon with graduate guard Camryn DeBose (Wellington, Fla./Wellington Community) earning a spot on the First Team and All-Defensive Team and senior post player Aurora Deshaies (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Ludden) collecting Second Team honors.
A fifth-year player for the Chargers, DeBose led New Haven's scoring throughout the season and stands fifth in the Northeast-10 Conference with her 15.8 points per game average. Among her 151 field goals were a team-best 58 three pointers which was the third most in the league, while her 40.6 percent shooting from outside the arc is the fifth highest in the NE10.
Deshaies leads the conference and is among the top-15 in the nation in a number of categories. The post player is the conference's best field goal shooter with her 60.3 average from the field (158-262) with that averaging coming in as the eighth best in NCAA D2. In addition, she leads the NE10 with her 10.8 rebounds per game average, which is also eighth in the country. Finally, she second among conference players with 14 double doubles, which is 14th best in the country.
The Chargers saw their quest for an NE10 title come up short with a loss to the Franklin Pierce Ravens in the opening round of the conference playoffs. New Haven will await the upcoming NCAA Division II selection show for a potential at-large bid for the NCAA playoffs.
