Field Hockey Drops Sunday Afternoon Neutral Site Contest to Mansfield

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Playing on a neutral field, the New Haven field hockey team dropped its second-straight, 3-0 to Mansfield at Whitenight field. With the loss, New Haven falls to 1-3 on the season and 1-0 in the Northeast-10 Conference.

Mansfield scored a pair of first quarter goals to take the early lead and never let up from there. All three of the goals came thanks in part to Kenedy Stroup who assisted on the first and third goals and scored the second. With the win, Mansfield remains undefeated on the year.

New Haven finished the game with four total shots, two of which were marked on goal as Johannah Lee (State College, Pa./State College Area) and Audrey Larson (Gilroy, Calif./Gilroy) each forced Mansfield's August Lewis into action. Between the pipes, Ally Saigh (Grosse Point Woods, Mich./Grosse Point North) played the first minutes, splitting the action with Hallie Reiger (Oklahoma City, Okla./Casady School) who played the second 30 minutes. Combined, the pair finished with eight saves, with Saigh and Reiger each registering four.

The Chargers will return to Northeast-10 action the next time they take the field with a Friday as they go under the lights in Rindge, N.H. to face the Franklin Pierce Ravens. The contest is scheduled for a 6:00 p.m. start with all of the action available on NE10Now.tv.
