After more than 53+ minutes of scoreless action between the Lions and Chargers, senior Johannah Lee (State College, Pa./State College Area) concluded her final regular season game with her second goal of the season. In a play that began as a turnover on the Lions deep in the Chargers zone, Eliza Caven (Caledon, Ontario/Humberview Secondary) restarted play sending the ball to the midfield where Kelli Jacobson (North Branford, Conn./North Branford) collected and sent a long pass deep into the arc. Senior Kat Trammel (Sandy Hook, Conn./Newtown) collected that pass just in front of the keeper and sent the ball back to Lee who fired a shot that split the wickets going right between the keepers pads and smacked the backboard.
Overall for the game, New Haven held a 13-4 shot advantage over the Lions, placing more than half of those, eight total on goal which forced the Lions keeper to make seven saves. On the flip side all four of Molloy's shots were marked on goal with New Haven keeper Cara Lambert (Sutton, Mass./Sutton Memorial) registering four saves in what was her second shutout of the season.
