Liam Quigley (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Govenor Livingston) field goal had the Chargers ahead 3-0 after the opening 15 minutes.
Sacred Heart found the end zone twice in the second quarter. In between Pioneer touchdowns,
Jayden Shwed (Hawthorne, N.J./Hawthorne) found paydirt as he scored his first touchdown of the season.
New Haven was held scoreless in the third while SHU added another score, making it 21-10 after three.
Another field goal from Quigley and a 20-yard touchdown pass from
AJ Duffy (St. Augustine, Fla./Rancho Verde) to
Kevonne Wilder (Bronx, N.Y.) was the rest of the offense the Blue & Gold could generate.
Sacred Heart put up another 14 in the final quarter, resulting in the 35-20 final.
New Haven ends its 2025 campaign on Saturday, Nov. 8, at home against Merrimack College. Opening kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
