WEST HAVEN, Conn. – New Haven Men's Basketball freshman forward Tristan Burth (Bronx, N.Y./Bridgeport Preparatory School) has been named Rookie of the Week by the NEC, becoming the first player in program history to earn the award from the conference.
Burth's nod as finest freshman comes after a week in which he set career highs in points (12), minutes (21), rebounds (11), and assists (2) in New Haven's 122-51 win over VTSU Lyndon. Burth also played 15 minutes in a loss at Seton Hall.
For the week, Burth shot 66.7% (six of nine) from the field, grabbed 14 rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and a steal.
Up next, New Haven will welcome Salve Regina to The Hazell Center on Tuesday, Nov. 25, for a 7:00 p.m. matchup.
