WEST HAVEN, Conn. -- The NEC announced its weekly award winners on Monday afternoon, with New Haven Men's Basketball forward
Teshaun Steele (Worcester, Mass./Darrow School) being named NEC Rookie of the Week. This marks the second time Steele has taken home the title of top newcomer.
In the final week of the season, Steele set a new career-high for steals with two against St. Francis on Feb. 24. In 22 minutes in the game, the Worcester, Mass. product pulled down eight rebounds, dished out a pair of assists, blocked a shot, and chipped in four points. Continuing his week of strong play, Steele posted six points in back-to-back games at Wagner (Feb. 26) and against Le Moyne (Feb. 28) to close out the 2025-26 campaign. His six rebounds against Le Moyne was the fourth most he collected in a game this season.
