WEST HAVEN, Conn. – New Haven Men's Soccer ended the 2025 season with a 1-0 win over Mercyhurst University. Andres Lazo's (Montville, N.J./Montville) goal in the 86th minute broke a scoreless tie and gave New Haven a win at home to close out the season.

Lazo's goal was set up by Daniel Ehlin (Kalmar, Sweden/Stagneliusskolan). Lazo (two), Guilherme Meira (Alfredo Chaves, Brazil/Clotilde Rato), and Luke Fiscella (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield) (both one) each finished with shots on goal.

Alessandro Bizzini (Imola Bologna, Italy/Liceo Scientifico Valeriani) finished with three saves, getting his five shutout of the season, and third in a row. Bizzini ended the year not allowing a goal against him since Oct. 23 in a 3-3 draw with Le Moyne College. The Italian goalie finishes the season with a 1.26 goals-against average.

New Haven ends its first season in the NEC at 5-5-6.
