BOX SCORE West Haven, Conn. - With eight different Chargers finding the basket, the University of New Haven Men's basketball team comeback falls short to the visiting Bentley University Falcons, 72-65 at the Jeffery P. Hazell Athletics Center. With the loss, New Haven falls to 9-12 on the season and 5-9 in the Northeast-10 Conference.
Leading the Chargers with game high was junior guard
Ethan Simmon (Edison, N.J./St. Joseph Metuchen) with 23 points, while shooting 9 for 17 from the field and 4-of-8 from downtown.
Overall, Simmon was one of two Chargers in double figures, joined by
Jah'Likai King (Newburgh, N.Y./Newburgh Free Academy) who finished with 15 points on 6-of-17 shooting.
The Chargers comeback came within seven keeping the last 10 minutes of game with the fans of the edge of their seats as both teams dialed up the pressure in the full court forcing late timeouts.
Chargers next game is another road trip to Manchester, New Hampshire to face the Hawks of Saint Anselm College on February 5 at 7:30 pm. The next time the Chargers are home is their annual Fight for Literacy game against the American International College on February 8 at 3:30 pm.
