BOX SCORE West Haven, Conn.- Sparked by raucous crowd Chargers split the season series Southern Connecticut 55-49. With the win the University of New Haven women's basketball team Improve to 15-9 and 10-8 in the Northeast-10 conference.
With five days off the Chargers had a chance to rest their legs before the regular season ends and postseason begins. Tonight, really showed it on both ends of the floor. Coach mentioned in her post game talk "that the defense played a full 40 minutes". The game had great energy as the President of the school was in attendance.
The duo that lead the way was junior
Lindsay Hogan (Bayville, N.Y./Locust Valley) and senior
Charlotte Bassett (Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury). Hogan had a game high 16 points on 7-for-13 from the field. Hogan also added 7 rebounds which was second on the team. Bassett knowing it was her last regular season home game in Jeffery P. Hazell Athletics Center she went out with bang, scoring 15 points which was games second highest in the game. Bassett did this on 6-for-11 from the field and 3-of-4 behind the arc. Bassett also was not afraid to be down under as she added 6 defensive rebounds.
Up next for the Chargers is they travel to Saint Michael's for an afternoon tip-off schedule for 1:30 pm Saturday 22.
