New Haven Men's Basketball Announces Hire of Rob DePersia as Assistant Coach

WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The University of New Haven men's basketball program is excited to announce the addition of Rob DePersia as an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach. DePersia brings a wealth of experience and a strong basketball pedigree to the Chargers, having most recently served on the staff of Villanova University's men's basketball program.

DePersia spent two seasons working under legendary head coach Jay Wright before joining Kyle Neptune at Fordham University in 2021 as the Video Coordinator. When Neptune was named Head Coach at Villanova in April 2022, DePersia returned with him, serving as Assistant Director of Basketball Operations.

From 2019 to 2021, DePersia was a Graduate Manager at Villanova, contributing to a highly successful stretch for the Wildcats. During his time with the program, Villanova captured two BIG EAST regular season championships, two Big 5 titles, and reached the NCAA Sweet 16 in 2021.

Before his time at Villanova, DePersia had an impressive playing career at Rowan University, where he was a four-year starter and three-year captain. A standout point guard, he became the first player in program history to record over 1,000 points and 500 assists. In his senior season, he led Rowan to a 22-7 record, a conference championship, and an appearance in the third round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Chargers are thrilled to welcome Coach DePersia to the program and look forward to the experience, energy, and leadership he brings to the sidelines.
