WEST HAVEN, Conn. – New Haven Men's Soccer collected its first win as an NEC member on Sunday night, with a 4-2 win over Howard University.
An own-goal put the Bison ahead in the fourth minute. Shortly after,
Ryan Kipness (Stamford, Conn./Westhill) brought New Haven back even at one in the 13th minute.
Tommaso Illario (Valenza, Italy/Istituto Cellini) and
Jacopo Suagher (Bergamo, Italy/Liceo Scientifico E. Amaldi) set up Kipness' goal.
About four minutes later, Howard went back ahead 2-1.
Three unanswered second-half goals from
Andres Lazo (Montville, N.J./Montville),
Luke Fiscella (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield), and
Guilherme Meira (Alfredo Chaves, Brazil/Clotilde Rato) powered the Blue & Gold to a 4-2 win.
New Haven continues its conference schedule with a trip to FDU on Thursday, Oct. 2, with kickoff slated for 4:00 p.m.
