Aidan Losiewicz (Douglas, Mass./Newman School) has been named NEC Rookie of the Week for the first time this season. Losiewicz joins
Tristan Burth (Bronx, N.Y./Bridgeport Preparatory School) as the second player to capture the Rookie of the Week honor.
Losiewicz burst onto the scene during Friday night's 70-55 win over Stonehill as New Haven opened NEC play 1-0. In 16 minutes of work, the Douglas, Mass. native dropped 13 points on five-of-seven shooting from the floor and three-of-four from beyond the arc. He finished with one rebound and one steal in the historic win for the Blue & Gold.
Continuing his strong play, Losiewicz finished with 17 points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals in Sunday's game at Central Connecticut. Sunday's game saw Losiewicz set career highs in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and minutes (25).
Losiewicz and New Haven continue the NEC schedule on Thursday, Jan. 8, traveling to Syracuse, N.Y., for a matchup with the Le Moyne College Dolphins. Opening tip is slated for 7:00 p.m.
