Hogan Records 1,000th Career Point at Le Moyne

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — New Haven (7-21, 5-12 NEC) fell to Le Moyne (11-19, 9-8 NEC) in a closely contested game, 53-48, at Ted Grant Court. Despite holding a 32-21 halftime lead, New Haven was unable to withstand Le Moyne's 22-point surge in the third quarter. The Chargers recorded nine steals and forced 13 turnovers, yet Le Moyne's 24 points in the paint and 20 points from the bench proved decisive.

The game opened with Le Moyne's Ashley Buragas hitting an early jumper, setting a competitive tone. New Haven quickly responded with Aniya McDonald-Perry's (Middletown, Conn./Putnam Science Academy) fast-break layup, assisted by Jasmine McKay (West Babylon, N.Y./North Babylon) at 8:50. McKay added a three-pointer at 8:08, followed by Lindsay Hogan (Bayville, N.Y./Locust Valley) with another at 7:05, giving the Chargers an 8-2 advantage. Despite a three-pointer from Le Moyne's Sierra Linnin at 5:39, New Haven maintained control. Addisen Sulikowski (Saco, ME/Thornton Academy) extended the lead with a three-pointer at 1:39, and Hogan closed the quarter with a jumper, securing a 17-14 lead for New Haven.

In the second quarter, New Haven pushed ahead, outscoring Le Moyne 15-7. McKay scored eight points, including two three-pointers at 6:38 and 5:08, bolstering the Chargers' momentum. McDonald-Perry added a layup and free throw at 3:34. Despite Le Moyne's attempts to close the gap, including a layup by Amya McLeod at 7:27, turnovers hampered their efforts. New Haven's strong rebounding and defense ensured a 32-21 halftime lead.

Le Moyne dominated the third quarter, outscoring New Haven 22-10 to take the lead. Buragas was instrumental, scoring a layup at 8:08 and completing a three-point play at 3:39. Kayden Clark's three-pointer with 45 seconds left, assisted by Buragas, put Le Moyne ahead. Hogan kept New Haven close with a three-pointer at seven seconds, ending the quarter 43-42 in favor of Le Moyne.

In the fourth quarter, Le Moyne extended their lead with Buragas' free throws and a three-pointer from Eli Clark at 8:09, bringing the score to 48-42. New Haven attempted a comeback with Hogan's jumper at 7:46 and McDonald-Perry's basket at 5:47, narrowing the deficit to four points. However, Buragas' layup at 4:12 helped maintain Le Moyne's advantage. Despite New Haven's defensive efforts and a late attempt from Hogan, Le Moyne secured a 53-48 win.
