Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Huge Comeback not Enough as New Haven Falls to LIU

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – New Haven Men's Basketball finished its three-game road trip with a 60-55 loss at LIU on Thursday night. After being down 13 at halftime, the Blue & Gold rallied to come all the way back and tie the game before ultimately falling to the NEC preseason favorite Sharks.

Jabri Fitzpatrick (North Brunswick, N.J./North Brunswick) led the way for New Haven, totaling 17 points in 39 minutes before exiting with his fifth foul. Andre Pasha (Syracuse, N.Y./Syracuse Academy of Science) and Najimi George (Bridgeport, Conn./Kolbe Cathedral) each had 14 points in the contest. Pasha and Maison Adeleye (Arlington, Tx./Juan Seguin) each had five rebounds, tying for the team lead. Stefano Faloppa's (Portogruaro, Italy/Holy Cross Prep) pair of assists were the most of any player in the Blue & Gold.

New Haven was snakebitten from deep, only converting two of 14 attempts (14.3%) from deep. From the floor, it shot a healthy 44.% (22-50), but only 25.9% (7-27) in the first half.

At the other end, LIU outrebounded the Chargers 39-27. Malachi Davis, a unanimous preseason First-Team All-NEC selection, dropped 18 points and collected seven rebounds. Fellow unanimous First Teamer, Jamal Fuller, scored 13 and also had seven rebounds.

New Haven will play host to Chicago State on Saturday, Feb. 7. Tip off is set for 1:00 p.m.
