New Haven, NEC Announce 2026 Football Schedule

WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The University of New Haven officially announced its 2026 football schedule on Tuesday evening. New Haven is scheduled to play five home games this fall at Ralph F. DellaCamera Stadium, highlighted by visits from Marist, Stonehill, Brown, Duquesne and LIU.

The Chargers' 12-game slate includes three first-time opponents; South Dakota State, Brown and Austin Peay; and marks the program's first season as a full football member of the NEC. New Haven will play a complete conference schedule in 2026 and compete for the NEC championship.

New Haven opens the season on Friday, Aug. 28, hosting the Marist University Red Foxes at Ralph F. DellaCamera Stadium. In last season's opener, the Chargers fell on the road, 31-14 on Aug. 29, 2025, a game in which quarterback AJ Duffy (St. Augustine, Fla./Rancho Verde) passed for 377 yards and two touchdowns.

The home NEC slate at New Haven consists of three games: vs. Stonehill College (Sept. 5), Duquesne University (Oct. 31) and Long Island University (Nov. 7). The Chargers lead the all-time series against Stonehill, having won five of the last six meetings.

New Haven's four NEC road games consist of Robert Morris University (Oct. 17), Central Connecticut State University (Oct. 24), Wagner College (Nov. 14) and Mercyhurst University (Nov. 21). New Haven holds a 1-0 series lead at Robert Morris from Nov. 14, 1998, and leads the all-time series against Central Connecticut.

Non-conference matchups include a road trip to South Dakota State University (Sept. 12) for the first meeting between the programs, a home game against Brown University (Sept. 19), a road game at Merrimack University (Sept. 26), and a visit to Austin Peay State University (Oct. 3).
