WEST HAVEN, Conn. – New Haven Men's Basketball, under the leadership of Head Coach Ted Hotaling, is set to open the 2026-27 season at Syracuse University. The matchup is scheduled for Monday, November 2, and will take place in the JMA Wireless Dome, marking the first-ever meeting on the court between the two teams.
New Haven continues its journey in NCAA Division I basketball, with the matchup at Syracuse marking the beginning of the second season in the NEC for the Blue & Gold. Since transitioning to Division I, Head Coach Ted Hotaling has been instrumental in navigating the team through a challenging schedule. In its previous season, New Haven achieved a 9-9 record in NEC play, finishing fifth in the league standings. The team concluded the season with a 14-17 overall record, winning four of their last six games.
Hotaling, who has been at the helm since the 2010-11 season, boasts a career record of 232-201. His leadership has also led New Haven to five NCAA Tournament appearances and developed 13 professional players over his tenure.
Syracuse, led by first-year head coach Gerry McNamara, will also be commencing their season with this game. McNamara, a former standout player at Syracuse, will see his tenure begin as the Orange welcome the Blue & Gold.
