LOWELL, Mass. — New Haven Field Hockey lost to UMass Lowell 8-0 on Friday. The Chargers were held to two shots, none on goal, and faced 28 shots from UMass Lowell.
UMass Lowell scored first at 4:35 and added another at 11:31, leading 2-0 after the first quarter. The Chargers had their first shot blocked at 17:08, and UMass Lowell extended the lead to 4-0 by halftime.
In the third quarter, UMass Lowell scored twice more, increasing the lead to 6-0. The Chargers had a late penalty corner but couldn't capitalize.
UMass Lowell scored twice in the fourth quarter to finalize the 8-0 victory.
