What is SAAC?

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is a committee consisting of student-athletes assembled to provide insight on the student-athlete experience. The SAAC also informs fellow student-athletes of proposed National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and regulations, and recommends legislation to the NCAA. The primary purpose of SAAC is allowing student-athletes a voice to protect the interests and welfare with the NCAA.

Mission Statement
The Mission of the NCAA and the University of New Haven's SAAC is to enhance the total student–athlete experience by promoting opportunity, protecting student-athlete welfare and fostering a positive student-athlete image.

Roles and Responsibilities

-      Become a liaison between the student-athletes and the Department of Athletics administration.

-      Provide recommendations to the administration for improvement of the student-athlete academic, athletic and social experiences.

-      Promote a sense of community among all teams within the athletics program.

-      Encourage involvement of student-athletes in campus and community projects.
